This family estate is run by Chantal Tortochot. All the vineyards are certified organic, are hand-harvested and the resulting wines are not fined or filtered, and are fermented using indigenous yeast varieties. This is a wonderfully charming, traditional estate that produces textbook Gevrey Chambertin.
Chantal’s wines are elegant and fleshy, bright and concentrated all at once. They are exceptional expressions of their individual terroirs. 10 of the 11 ha are in Gevrey-Chambertin including plots in 3 different lieu dits, 2 1er Crus, including the famous Lavaux St. Jacques and 3 Grand Cru vineyards. Chantal owns a tiny strip of vines amounting to 7 rows in the famed Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru. The average age of the vines across the totality of the Domaine is over 50 years old.
The palate is elegant and beautifully balanced with a vivid energy and a very long lasting finish, fresh and ethereal with notes of liquorice and tea leaves.View product details
