Very definitely a Meursault. This is full of nuts and cream and lemon curd on both the nose and the palate. This is possibly the best this cuvée has tasted from barrel. With a lingering minerality and lovely balance this has a lot of pleasure in it. Drink 2012-2017.

The nose expresses notes of briocheand green apple and hints of minerality. This Champagne has nutty like characters with stone fruits and yeasty flavours. Full bodied in style the Bollinger Special Cuveé is a real crowd pleaser - the refreshing acidity and weight brings the wine to life.

Well known and respected in the Côte d’Or Gouges was established in 1919. The Porrets is fresh with intense aromas of sweet strawberries and cedar and a little spice. Lovely black cherry fruit and warm tannins dominate the finish. Give it an hour to really open up.

From a true original the 2004 Bongran is just stunning. Following a long fermentation and extensive cellaring this wine is rich and bursting with ripe peaches and stone fruit. There is a certain brightness to these wines that shines through with superb minerality and an exquisitely long finish.

Slightly more closed this shows an extra quality of linear citrus zing which appears on the palate as well as the nose. Good texture and nervosité this needs some time to come round before fattening out. Drink 2012-2018.

Wonderful aromas of white flowers with a hint of butterscotch. The palate has kept its fresh fruit characters and mid weight acidity. The wine is well rounded and delicate on the finish.

Very sexy and silky this doesn’t feel masculine enough for Nuit Saint Georges. The purity of the red fruits jump out of the glass whilst there is some elegant structure in the mouth. Very good. Drink from 2013.

Although the nose is slightly muted at this stage this promises great hidden depth. The palate certainly displays real grandeur and great concentration. Classic Meursault. Superb. Drink from 2012.

Lifted violet and blue fruit-infused aromas. The palate shows a touch of cream on the attack paired with black fruit and fine tannins. A silky wine in the making this is really quite an elegant affair. Drink 2011-2017.
