This vintage is made from old Chardonnay vines in Avize Cramant. The wine is aged in oak barrels where malolactic fermentation is carried out. The bottling was performed in May 2004, rested on it's lees for 5 years and stirred manually. Bright gold in colour, the nose is typified by the vintage, it conjures up elegant aromas of dried straw, lime, butter and hints of nuts and candied fresh fruits. Very lively and forward in the mouth there is wonderful minerality and weight. The finish is dry and persistent, delecious.

Geyerhof is situated on the southern slopes of the Danube Valley east of Krems and forms part of the Lower Austrian wine region known as Kremstal (Krems Valley). Here, Josef and Ilse Maier cultivate 15 hectares of vineyards in optimal sites which are distinguished by their proximity to the Danube River. Bright gold-yellow in colour the nose shows fine bloom honey and yellow peach fruit. The palate is fresh with fig and pear characters bursting through. There is a touch of sweetness and a rich acid structure on the palate. Superb minerality and length on the finish makes this wine very long lived.

Based on the Sant'Antimo side of the region, the estate benefits from early ripening vineyards; a real plus in cooler vintages as they can pick their grapes up to one month before the vineyards located on the Montalcino hill. This Brunello has an intense bouquet with the fruit coming right to the front. Spicy, floral notes with hints of red berries are present. The palate is warm with soft tannins and a long finish.
