Annual Wine Lists

Some new releases on the Genesis List

With an evolving portfolio, we have introduced some new growers and wines. For some superb everyday drinking wines (under £10), try the wines from Les Sarments based in Madiran, Southern France (page 23). Here, Pierre Laplace - one of the most influential growers in the region - produced the 2009 Côtes de Gacogne Blanc and 2008 Comte Tolosan Rouge. Both wines express fabulous fruit notes on the nose, the palate has striking schist-like minerality - pure and well balanced. Another very recent addition is Finca Nueva from La Rioja, Spain (page 30). This is Michael Angels’s latest creation - he is also winemaker for the renowned Finca Allende - a quirky label illustrating a humming bird leaving its cage resembles a new found freedom in his winemaking. The 2009 Rioja Barrel Fermented Blanco and 2006 Rioja Crianza are simply delicious and must try, fabulous wines that offer superb value.

A couple of newly introduced wines are: The 2008 Royale Cabernet Sauvignon (£10.95) from our long-standing Chilean producer Koyle. Part of their premium range it is a full-bodied style with rich red fruits and soft tannins, very appetizing. We have also included a 2009 Mâcon Charnay Vieilles Vignes (£11.25) from the famous Burgundy producer Christophe Cordier, this Mâcon is very elegant with light use of oak, it has wonderful minerality with brilliant acidity on the finish.

New Released 2011 Gensis Wines List

New Release Wine List

Welcome to our Annual Wine List. It has been an exciting year here at Genesis with the release of our new website and the huge success of the Bordeaux and Burgundy En Primeur campaigns. Launched last April the new website is a big step forward in providing solutions for our customers. You will find up-to-date En Primeur campaigns, special offers, new shipments, events and tastings, food and wine matching, producer information and the publications of this list and the Fine Wine list. For your convenience you can purchase online and, with the help of our internal search engine, your favourite wine will be easy to find. Alternatively, if you would prefer to contact us directly please phone or email and one of the team will be happy to help.

The 2009 Bordeaux campaign was truly one of the more remarkable 3 months that we can remember in the wine trade. It all started quite sensibly with wines being released at prices that, given the quality of the vintage, seemed reasonable. Then Robert Parker dolled out his scores and suddenly wines were being released at double the price of their 2005 counterparts. In amongst the barkingly mad releases many wines came out at prices that, given some consideration, were worth the money, after all wasn’t this the greatest vintage ever? Lets see in a few years, shall we? While we are on the topic, our 2009 Burgundy En Primeur offer opened on the 11 January 2011, all information is available on our website or get in touch with one of the team here at Genesis.

This list introduces the new 2008 vintage wines from Rhône and Burgundy and the 2009 vintages across both New and Old World producers. Our mission to sell wines that are excellent of their type and reflect and represent where they come from is upheld in every circumstance. We continue to source new wines from both new and existing producers and where possible, we choose to source wines from biodynamic and organic growers. While this is the most challenging form of wine production, hard work pays off and these producers have created amazing wines from their unique terroirs.

As previously mentioned, the list will be updated regularly on this website. The information on the wines featured here is the very tip of the iceberg, so please do let us know if you need any advice. We release a monthly Fine Wine List on this website, showing our current stocks of top Bordeaux, Burgundy, Rhône, Italians including many of the world’s most sought-after wines. If anything catches your eye please let us know as soon as possible before someone else snaps them up! Furthermore, there is growing interest in customers wanting to start private cellars. If you are thinking of setting up your own please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Also, more than ever before we are buying increasing quantities of fine wines from our clients, so if you are considering selling any please contact us. If you do not currently receive the Fine Wine list and would like to, drop us a line at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

So Genesis is busy adding value to the range, improving the offering at the lower end and passing on any price benefits from the grower to the customer. Lastly we are determined to uphold our customer service credentials at all times. As ever, please do not hesitate to register any comments or suggestions.

Last but by no means least, we welcome any feedback from you, not just on the wines but also how we communicate with you. All comments, good and bad, are appreciated as it is the best way of making sure we give you what you want.

Kind Regards

James Price
