Having cut her teeth heading up the winemaking team behind Villa Maria, Michelle decided time was right to set up her own project and with superb results. Michelle is a 3 times New Zealand winemaker of the year and is responsible for some of the countries most exciting and sought after wines. Michelle is passionate about yeast cultivation and armed with her Batchelor of Science has worked tirelessly to promote the degree of wild fermentation that is becoming more and more familliar with the top wines of New Zealand. With Michelles signiture wines you get a combination of the country’s very best winemaking skill plus knowledge of where the best grapes and vineyards are and it is this second element that give michelles wines an added edge – she is not married to sourcing all her wines from one site and so is able source fruit from the very best vineyard sites for each variety. In this case her Sauvignon Blanc comes from Marlborough whilst her Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir come from Central Otago.
