2010 Rhône En Primeur offer.pdf
The 2010 vintage is a remarkable year, but how does it compare with the other recent good vintages? In the North the 2010 is being likened by some growers to the 2006 and it certainly does offer all the weighty fruits that boasted, but there is an air of freshness and finesse that stands these wines apart. The southern Rhône has seen its wines compared with the brilliant 2005 but again I don’t think this does them enough justice. There is a certain grace to the 2010s, and that is not something I say often of the Southern Rhône. 2010 is simply a wonderful vintage, the only down-side being the much reduced yields experienced in the South. Rhône Tasting....
The Rhone tasting held at the beautiful Chandos House (Royal Society of Medicine) was an absolute success and thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended. Starting at 3 in the afternoon, customers that could escape the office joined us to try a superb range of 2010s, with a sprinkle of 2011s from a couple of producers. As the evening drew near, the stylish Robert Adams room was bustling with attendance. The wines showed extremely well and the attendance of Sophie Armenier (Domaine de Marcoux) and Pierre Gaillard (Domaine Pierre Gaillard) insured that our guests had a fantastic and informative evening. A lot of hype was generated about the 2010 and tasting the wines most certainly did not disappoint.
We are now very much looking forward to the Genesis Burgundy 2010 En Primeur tasting where we can enjoy another superb vintage.
