Domaine de Montille
A heavyweight domaine of the Côte d’Or, Etienne de Montille has taken over since 2001where his father Hubert left off and has a strong and dedicated following. Recent vineyard purchases have seen the domaine extend its range beyond its Volnay heartland into the Côte de Nuits. These are amongst the finest wines in the Côte de Beaune and display absolute purity and class.

Very sexy and silky this doesn’t feel masculine enough for Nuit Saint Georges. The purity of the red fruits jump out of the glass whilst there is some elegant structure in the mouth. Very good. Drink from 2013.
Round and ripe black fruit aromas suggest a fleshy palate. In the mouth it is ripe and dark in a typically Volnay style.While the fruit concentration is seductive the freshening acidity on the finish keeps it moreish. Drink from 2013.
Very youthful apple-rich nose with charming hint of nut too. Open attractive palate with a welcoming silkiness and finesse. Excellent balance and a very classy Beaune. Drink from 2009.
