Domaine de la Vieille Julienne
The word ‘old’ in the name of this estate is very apt: with a history going back over 100 years it has access to some ancient vine fruit in its vineyards to the north of the appellation. The man in charge of this legacy, and some of the most sought-after wines in Châteauneuf du Pape, is Jean-Paul Daumen. The vines are farmed biodynamically and there is minimum use of sulphur and fining in the winery. The results are pure expressions of the deep-rooted vines and their grapes.
