Jean Marc Despres’ vineyards are situated on some of the best granite soils and south-east facing slopes in Fleurie; great raw ingredients for some of the best wines in Beaujolais. Although Gamay may not be the most fashionable of grape varieties, it can produce attractive, fruit driven wines in the light and refreshing style that is very much in demand at the moment.
