The Paul Blanc wines are produced at the Mas Carlot estate run by Nathalie Blanc-Mares. Costières de Nîmes is one of those slightly schizophrenic appellations that is often listed with southern French and Languedoc wines, even though it is situated in the Rhône delta. It is possibly the preponderance of Syrah planted that tips the balance in the favour of the south, and this is reflected in blends of Natalie’s rosés and reds. The whole range has impressive complexity for the price point and great drinkability.
