Chateau Cissac 2011 Release

Today sees the release of a real Genesis favourite in the form of Chateau Cissac. This is a property that has genuinely pulled the proverbial socks up over the last 5 years or so. This fantastic Médoc grows in quality year on year, whilst still maintaining its superb price tag. A real buy recommendation here…..

Chateau Hourtin-Ducasse 2011 Release

We start off this En Primeur campaign with an example of what everyone should have done in 2011. Chateau Hourtin-Ducasse is an estate that we have been following for the last couple for the last couple of years. Michel Marengo and his team believe in minimal interference, low yields and allowing natural extraction without resorting to massive extraction via pumping over. Whilst the 2011 does not have the same flesh as the 2009 or power of the 2010 it is a very good wine at this price brilliant value for money to boot. Give it 4-5 years and this will provide terrific dinner party and Sunday lunch drinking at an everyday price.

Chateau Hourtin-Ducasse Cru Bourgeois, Haut Medoc 2011 @ £84.00 per case 12x75 in bond

@ £90.00 per case 6x150 in bond

@ £45.00 per double magnum (1x300cl) in bond

“74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. The nose has a real hit of spice, cigar box and smokiness blended into the fruit giving good impact. The palate has softer black fruit notes and a good richness to balance the acidity. Not overly flashy but very well put together. Drink from 2015.” Genesis 15.5
