The wines of El Castro de Valtuille (made by the extremely tallented Raul Perez) are one of the best examples of what the indigenous Mencia grape from Bierzo is capable of. Admittedly this is not where the mind immediately goes to when looking for the classic wines of Spain, but there is more to life outside of Rioja, The Ribeira and Priorat!
